California business moving to Nevada

Business moving to Nevada The effects of Smart Growth Planning which controls transportation congestion and housing costs.

Comments:
There was NO mention of the word "Smart Growth" anywhere in the article. What's killing Caifornia is highway construction and sprawl. With two thirds of Los Angeles consisting of highway and road construction, only one third is left for housing and office construction. As a result, the cost of this land remains expensive.

From the article:
Californians leave behind some of the nation's highest costs for real estate, taxes, utilities and workers' compensation insurance. Nevada, which collects no business or personal income tax, is a state where riches are found not just at the slot machines and blackjack tables but in the savings on land, housing and other expenses<<<<<<<

The is the real reason why business are leaving California. The Republicans who have no plan regarding health insuance is the reason why works comp is going through the roof! They also have no plan on the massive illegal immagration that is putting a tremdous burden on the tax base. It goes on and on.

Smart Growth causes Sprawl

There's very little Smart Growth in California. There was very little in the form of rail transport in California for decades. It's only recently that we are begining to see things turn around because people are tired of the gridlock caused by sprawl.

Face the facts. California can no longer continue to build more massive highways and subdivisions. Smart Growth construction is catching on as towns are begging for rail construction.

San Jose Valley Transit Authority today voted to build the BART extensiion 15 miles to San Jose at a cost of 4 billion. The Metro Transit Authority estimates the cost of one rider one way one day will be $100.30 or out and back $200. or one week $1,000 and $50,000 for one year.
There are no reports of any new rail service in the US reducing road congestion or polution a measurable amount.
