WASHINGTON METRO AFTER A QUARTER CENTURY:
BILLIONS FOR TRANSIT & MORE CONGESTION

Comments:
The numbers are insignificant because they do NOT include commuter rail and bus. If you include these two variables they exceed 157,000 thousand total passengers which EXCEEDS total motor car usage of 280,800.

By including all the rail and bus figures together, the total number of public transport is 320,200 passengers.

If it weren't for mass transit, there would be an additional 300 motor cars going to downtown creating massive gridlock. It's imperative the city continues expanding it commuter rail lines for those "INTELLIGENT" passengers who do not want to waste their lives in traffic.

The only way to decrease motor car usage in downtown is to block roads, fill parking spaces with parks and lightrail stops, increase tolls and traffic fines. Motor cars that don't have a minimal of 6 passengers should not be allowed inside the city.
