Vision on skinny houses widened, narrowed
Portland use to be know for affordable housing and big yards
for kids, pets and gardens. Now the planners are filling the yards
with skinny houses and many neighborhoods don't like it.
Infill and density is creeping into established neighborhoods with
mixed reactions.

The planners think if the houses are built using better design the
neighborhoods and residents that oppose skinny houses will
now accept them. The problem is when someone buys a home to
live in, they usually check out the zoning and pick a area they like.

Then the planners come along and change the zoning and add houses
where green spaces once were, without the consent of the affected
property owners.
