Hiawatha LRT's First Crash, Fatality
An 87-year old Minneapolis man was killed Saturday when his car collided with a light-rail train - the first accident for the new Hiawatha rail line.
Comments:
>>>>>The initial report is that he drove underneath the crossing arm," Gibbons said, adding that there were scratches on the car's roof, probably from the crossing arm.<<<<<
The 87 Minneapolis man like many others tried to race across the tracks to meet his death. It's unfortunate but the city needs to continue its' support of this lightrail line by extending it further.
Minneapolis needs more light rail lines so the elderly don't have to drive and risk their lives driving on todays dangerous roads.
